Donna's Personal Testimony and Statement of Belief

An Unseen Hand

Life began for me when I was ten.

I was sitting in a revival service in our little country church when God tapped me on my spiritual shoulder.  I sat up on the pew and listened. While the voice of the preacher sounded out through the congregation, the voice of God spoke to me from the inside out. God turned on a spiritual light and convinced me that the “sinner in need of forgiveness” was me.  My heart pounded in my chest.

At the end of the service when everyone began to sing, I felt an urging I’d never felt before.  God was calling me to follow Him.  I tried to drown out the voice of God by singing louder.  It was no use.  The great I AM was speaking.  Jesus pointed at me, crooked his finger and motioned to me, drawing me forward.

Years before it became a point and click world, Jesus pointed, everything clicked, and I was forever changed.

Who cared that I was a skinny little girl who didn’t know anything much about anything?  Who cared if I was the last one chosen by team captains on the playground?  He, the Lord, had redeemed me. He’d summoned me by name.

I left church that day in love with the Lord and eager to tell someone, anyone, everyone.

Years later, I am still that girl who was touched by an unseen hand— still in love with the Lord and eager to tell.

Statement of Belief

I believe God the Father is the one true and Holy God.  I believe Jesus Christ is His one and only Son and my Savior.  I believe the Bible is God’s Holy word and that it was inspired by the Holy Spirit.  My mission is to share the Gospel and to encourage others to pursue an intimate relationship with Jesus.  Through my ministry and witness and with the power of the Holy Spirit, I pray others will discover God's goodness and grace and yield to His Lordship.  I believe the Church is the bride of Christ and that Jesus will return for her.  I look forward to that day with great assurance.
